DIY Weathered Wood

I recently gave my pantry a mini makeover. I took everything out…

I used some left over peel and stick wall paper for a little panache.

I put everything back in and decided the plain ole door didn’t match the fabulous insides.

I wanted to add some charm and character to our kitchen vs the stock door. I found an antique door with the right dimensions on Facebook marketplace for a whopping $30. Snapped that baby up immediately.

Unloaded the door and cleaned off the cobwebs.

Sanded it once with my palm sander and wiped it down.

I put some bleach in a spray bottle and hit it.

The bleach stripped the color off creating a weathered look. I hit the inset areas of the panels a second time.

This was after 2 coats of bleach air drying between.

And here she is in all her glory, I love the weathered look and it was so easy!!!

Now I want to spray all our wood with bleach!!! Let me know if you try it.

Cheers –

Kristen
