Scalloped Wall Design

I decided to give our 3 year old granddaughter’s room a mini makeover. Pink is currently her favorite color.

I decided to paint 2/3 of the wall (ish) and keep the gray so it wouldn’t be too overwhelming.

I started by cutting a styrofoam plate in half to create the scalloped shape.

I stood my 4’ level on its end and placed the half plate on top then traced the plate in pencil.

By choosing to make the 4 foot level my desired “height” I didn’t have to measure or mark a straight line first then trace the plate across it. I just moved the level and plate tracing away along the walls.

I used an “oops” paint from Lowe’s. Oops paints are near the paint counter and always 50% off. If you don’t have a specific color in mind this is a great way to get a good paint. Look for a quality paint that says primer and paint all in one and promises one coat coverage!

I used a 2” angled brush to paint the scallops, along the baseboard, outlets etc and rolled the rest. Quick and easy!

She LOVED her new pink walls and even hugged them💕

Give it a try if you want to add a little scallop detail somewhere. You can play around with bowls or plates to find the size you want.

Happy painting – Kristen
