Salt Dough Ornaments

Made some salt dough ornaments today and they seriously can’t be easier!!!

You only need 3 ingredients.

Mix~
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 cup water

Roll out then cut in desired shape. I found it was easier to transfer the cut shape if the dough was a little thicker. Poke a hole with a straw before baking.

You can use a drinking glass to cut circles.

You can use salt dough to press an object into the center: a hand, paw, pine branch, pinecone, holly leaf ….I tried some with Holly.

Bake 250 for 2 hrs then let cool. Afterwards you can paint, stain or leave it natural.

I decided to give my snowflakes a quick coat of white paint. Once it dried I gave them a coat of Modpodge and a sprinkle of artificial snow flakes.

I think they are pretty dang cute and so simple to make. A very easy project to do with the kids and they could paint and decorate them too.

Wouldn’t these make a festive garland!??

Give these a try this holiday season for your own tree or as a heartfelt handmade gift.

Happy holidays – Kristen
