I found 2 cute side tables for our room on marketplace.

The wood was stained dark and I wanted to remove the old stain and lighten the wood. Once finished they were the PERFECT weathered look I was hoping for.

Citrustrip is an old but good product. Pour some in a cup or bowl, then paint on thick. Wrap intricate areas with plastic wrap

Check periodically. If the paint doesn’t lift easily give it more time.

Mineral spirits takes off the gooey feel. You can use scrapers, brillo/steel wool, toothbrush, Qtip or even a toothpick. I liked the steel wool and my wire brush the best.

Let dry then sand to even out the wood tone.

Here is another project with the same steps. I decided to strip this coffee table.

This started out very orange.

I brushed on the stripper then scraped it off. I used a degreaser and sanded it down.
