DIY Holiday Potpourri

If the holidays have an official smell at our house it’s a pine scented candle and holiday potpourri.

From Thanksgiving to New Years I like to simmer fresh potpourri on the stove top that makes the house smell like the holidays.

Ingredients are super simple and this time of year they may already be in your fridge and pantry.

  1. 3 cups of water
  2. 4 cinnamon sticks
  3. 1 TBSP cloves
  4. 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
  5. 1 orange sliced and juice squeezed into water

Sometimes I toss in a little pine or rosemary to make it pretty. Star anise can be hard to find but adds to the fragrance.

Simmer on low. Add water as needed.

One year I filled Mason jars with the ingredients to give as small gifts.

I think you’ll love filling your home with the fragrant smell.

Happy simmering- Kristen
