Have you ever wanted your own miniature garden? Succulents are easy to grow and low maintenance.
You will need a few materials to create your tiny garden. First item of business is a container for your garden. You can find these at local nurseries and stores or online.
The container we used was purchased from Amazon. Love the modern geometric shape. They come in ALL shapes and sizes!
You will need a mixture of soil, sand, rocks and mosses for drainage. I went the easy route and purchased a kit with soil mixes on Amazon. We had more than needed so I’d recommend the smaller package or just save it for later in case you make another.
Lastly, choose several small succulent varieties of varied color, texture and sizes. A tool kit is also useful for caring for the plants once they are positioned in the small space.
I purchased the succulents and tool kit from a local nursery who also sold the terrariums in the first place. If purchasing the supplies in their nursery the soil mixes are complementary and you could build it on site. That would make a great gift certificate idea for someone who loves plants.
Succulents don’t need as much water as houseplants. A plant mister is ideal to give it a spritz. This one is simply darling.
They also need the roots watered every 3-4 days but it varies based on location, humidity etc Trial and error on this one!
Terrariums are lots of fun ;for all ages and certainly boost the mood midwinter!
Happy Gardening~
